Henry Road

Any road could be HENRY ROAD. Michael finds himself man of the house. His father has left, his mother Sarah is seriously ill, and younger brother Luke dreams of being an Olympic champion, but can Michael stay clean long enough to hold his family together and live happily ever after?
Written and directed by Leon McFarlane, this story is largely based on his own experiences. A life of hard knocks and bad choices led him first to drugs, then crime, and eventually prison. His one beacon of salvation was the camera. He'd been fascinated by them since he was a small boy. In jail he decided that a life of crime was not the life he wanted – he wanted to follow a dream, a seemingly impossible dream... to be a filmmaker.
Having paid his debt to society, Leon drew a line under his mistakes and turned his life around. What he lacked in education, and financial resources, he made up for with discipline, sacrifice and determination.
Leon eventually saved enough money to enroll in the New York Film Academy to study filmmaking. Winning the respect of both his peers and tutors, he graduated with distinction.
“Life is not always easy living on the bread line, and when forced to make a choice, how can you be sure that you are making the right one? Henry Road is a journey through these choices, and the consequences, actions and reactions.”
