Rock legend, spoken word artist, author and self-confessed agitator, Henry Rollins features in this creative documentary made with exclusive footage donated by the World Food Program. The film explores what real hunger is and who the world's hunger criminals are: NGO’s, Governments, the church, you, me?
The original inspiration was to make a film that actually said something. Back in 2005 there was enough food to feed the entire world – it was just in the wrong places, or worse, thrown away. That is no longer the case. In 2010 the world is no longer making enough food to feed all the people on it.
1.02 billion people do not have enough to eat - more than the populations of USA, Canada and the European Union; the number of undernourished people in the world increased largely because of food prices. And yet food is turned into fuel, food eating contests exist and we still throw away more than 25% of all food we create.
Asia and the Pacific region is home to over half the world’s population and nearly two thirds of the world’s hungry people; 65 percent of the world's hungry live in only seven countries: India, China, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Pakistan and Ethiopia.
